You line up your putt for the 18th hole, and your muscles tighten. This one’s for birdie. Though the wind rustles the leaves of trees around you and the eyes of your friends watch your every move, you are too focused on what’s at stake. You stand up, get in position to putt, and exhale slowly.

Your swing feels smoother than expected, and the ball glides on the green towards the cup. You hold your breath and grit your teeth in anticipation. It looks painfully close.

The world’s most satisfying clunk confirms your victory. A wide grin spreads across your face, and your friends laugh and cheer along with you. What’s next? Fresh hot dogs, brews, and maybe even a cookie.

This year, Indigo Golf Partners celebrates the 25th anniversary of Tri-Mountain Golf Course, where our priority remains the same: we strive to give customers the ultimate golf experience and to satisfy their needs from the moment they enter the clubhouse up until the end of their stay. Our team of experienced staff, along with their exceptional customer service and attentiveness to detail, helps Tri-Mountain deliver positive and memorable experiences like this one.

When it comes to learning about the history of Tri-Mountain Golf Course, Dan Bierscheid, Tri-Mountain’s current superintendent, is the best person to ask. As a tribute to the wonderful improvements our staff and customers have contributed to our course, Dan Bierscheid kindly agreed to take our readers through Tri-Mountain’s timeline. Dan’s experience and knowledge of the industry knows no bounds, especially considering the fact that he has been working in the golf industry for thirty-four years. Dan has been at Tri-Mountain Golf Course since April 1994, just before the course officially opened to customers in July 1994.

The course, constructed by Atlantic Golf and designed by Bill Robinson, was in its infancy. Dan says that at the time, “the trees were small, and everything looked like a park.” The management was different as well; Tri-Mountain was owned by the Port of Ridgefield and run by David Stephens (former superintendent) and Roger Adams (former Head Pro).

For the first five years of operation, Tri-Mountain was owned by the Port of Ridgefield until it was sold to Clark County. In 2002, Indigo Golf Partners was hired as the management for the course, and they still represent Tri-Mountain today.

Dan stated that every year at Tri-Mountain has been different, and each year presents its own challenges. However, throughout his twenty-five years at Tri-Mountain, Dan said “this spring has been the best I have seen the course with its beauty of the trees, turfgrass, and mountains.”

Today, Dan Bierscheid and Brian Michaud help lead our team as the course’s superintendent and General Manager, with Jake Gregus and Jamie Stilwell. Though twenty-five years have passed, the staff at Tri-Mountain Golf Course still aim for the most excellent customer service, course maintenance, and guest satisfaction.

A links style golf course, Tri-Mountain’s fescue serves as its primary hazard rather than trees. Furthermore, we have since removed multiple bunkers from our course, making Tri-Mountain more player-friendly and fun for all ages. Our driving range also sets us apart from other courses; practicing players hit into the water rather than a plain of grass. Additionally, a 9-hole putting green is open to the public for play.

Before he became superintendent and even now, Dan has had a vision for Tri-Mountain Golf Course: “I have always wanted Tri to be the best golf course in Clark County, always striving our greens to be the best.”

We strongly encourage you to come out for a round and see for yourself!
