In thirty five days, its Christmas, are you on the naughty or nice list this year?
Golfers - to all stay on the nice list with our golf course superintendents please be patient with frost delays. Golfers who walk on frost covered greens causes the plant to break and cell walls to rupture, thereby losing its ability to function normally. When the membrane is broken, much like an egg, it cannot be put back together. A grass blade is 90% water, so when frost occurs - the grass blade is frozen.
Golfers who ignore frost delays will not see immediate damage, this occurs 48 to 72 hours later as the plant leaves turn brown and die. Tri Mountain Golf Course is one of the best public golf courses in the area with turf conditions, assist our Superintendent and Maintenance Crew this winter season and please be patient with our frost delays - this helps produce a quality product to all golfers that visit our facility.
